Information from Drury Deupree's tombstone in Oglethorpe County
showing the names of his children. It is illegible now but this
information was written years ago. I am descended from Sarah who
married Charles Bacon in Jefferson, GA in 1822.
"Sacred to the memory of Drury Deupree who departed this life in the
year 1812 and Nancy, his wife, who followed him 1821. Both believed
in Lord Jesus Christ of the Baptist persuasion and died as they lived
with unabated confidence.
The following are the names of their children:
Polly, John, Midian, Elizabeth, Lewis J., Nancy, Susie, Cassay, Sarah,
Drury, and Daniel. Remains being taken up from where they were first
deposited and removed here in the year 1819 by his son, Lewis J. Deupree."
