    • Agnes (Nancy) McClung, probably born c.1730, married c.1750, in Augusta (now Rockbridge) County, VA, Samuel Gray, born c.1720, son of John (died testate in 1751) and Agnes Gray who were living on the Timber Ridge in Augusta County, VA, by 30 July 1742, when John and Samuel Gray were among the frontier inhabitants who petitioned Governor William Gooch to appoint officers for defense against Indian raids on the frontier settlements. In 1765 Samuel and Agnes Gray sold their land in the Borden Tract, Augusta County, and moved to Tryon/Rutherford County, NC, where Samuel Gray died testate in 1775 and Agnes (Nancy) McClung Gray died 10 August 1809. Their children, all named in Samuel Gray's will except the youngest, Joseph, who was born after his father died and is proven by other records:
