I have notes on an Ezekiel Alexander, and with the understanding that they are only notes, and not proven information, I hope this will help: There was an Ezekiel Alexander who was the son of another Ezekiel, whose will was written in Mecklenburg Co. Aug. 22, 1810, and probated January of 1811. He names wife, Martha, and the following children: (1) Sarah [I have a note that she married Richard Robison, who died in 1797]; (2) James Taylor Alexander; (3) Deborah Robison [I have a note that she married Robert Robison, who also died in 1797]; (4) Ezekiel Alexander [I have a note that he "may" have married Patsey Robison on 3-8-1806]; (5) Wallace Alexander. In addition, Ezekiel, Sr. named a grandson, Ezekiel Robison, and my notes say he was a son of Robert & Deborah Alexander Robison. Executors of the will were son, Ezekiel Alexander, grandson Ezekiel Robison, and "friend" James Alexander. Witnessed by Ezekiel Robison & Ezra Alexander.
I can't be of much assurance that the younger Ezekiel named in this will is your Ezekiel who moved to Tennessee, however: I also have notes that an Ezekiel whose will was probated in Mecklenburg in January of 1837 was "probably Ezekiel Sr's son". This one names wife, Nancy, sons Rufus, Joel, Ezekiel Wallace Alexander, and grandson Thomas. H. Alexander. This Ezekiel was a resident of the Sugar Creek vicinity of Mecklenburg. There were numerous Ezekiel Alexanders in Mecklenburg, and sorting them out can be confusing. If you are certain that your Ezekiel is the one that married Patsey Robison, then you can rule out the one who died here in 1836/1837. The first Ezekiel I mentioned might be a more likely candidate, since the family ties to the Robisons are very evident. Not much but guesswork, but I hope it may hold a clue for you.
