1836, Marshall Co. was created from Blount and several other counties.
11 Mar 1839, James Banks was appointed administrator of the estate of

farmer, real estate $1000, b. SC. Living w/him: wife Frances and
children Rutha Jane, Lucinda and Levi. Also present: one dau Harriett
Banks [Mrs. Leander Walker], WF 21, b. AL, married within the year.
[Note: the wife's name Frances is consistent with a marriage to
Frances Hester, but Ann Carlton Banks was supposedly still alive in
1850]
The Roster of Revolutionary Soldiers listed either James or his wife
Ann as dying 1858. James is more likely -- if correct.
